D1NZ 2016 Round 2 Baypark - Event Report

What started as a wet and wild weekend the BSR 350z came into its own for day 2 D1NZ R2 Baypark, seeing a good result for qualifying and battles and proving the car is settling well into the new Westlake NZ tyres.
After a wet day of practice on day one D1NZ was forced to abandon the afternoons practice. The team wasn't able to get a good grasp of the track in these conditions meaning a busy day ahead with battle practice, qualifying and battles.

Day two with the sun shining, we saw a solid morning of battle practice with the car feeling on form going into the quickfire qualifying session.
Qualified 16th, up against Dylan Woolhouse first. Top 32 Parade lap up next.

Qualifying 16th meant were up against Dylan Woolhouse and his supercharged LS1-powered Nissan Laurel in the top32. We comfortably won this battle with the car showing good speed and angle, continuing onto the top16 against Fanga Dan Woolhouse in his newly refreshed VE Commodore.
'Fanga' Dan Woolhouse was up next, Top16 Battle. Our cars were evenly matched on the technical and twisty Baypark course with both runs seeing door to door action, Fanga was just too good on the chase keeping the Commodore pinned to the BSR 350z though the whole section, Fanga would advance to the top8 and face Tom Marshall.
Well D1NZ Round 2 is done and dusted and what a round it was! Ryan Tuerck dropped by for a stint in the new Toyotaz Galore GT86 and Daynom Drift had the new BMW singing! Stay tuned for more highlights soon!

D1NZ Round 2 was a solid performance for BSR and the 350z, I am getting very comfortable with the car and we are seeing the results from this, consistency in qualifying and winning battles is the key focus for this season, bring on Round 3 Taupo! #ˇunleashthebest¬
